Surgery Access

Due to coronavirus the surgery is currently on restricted access. Please press the doorbell for entry and someone will try to assist you. Alternatively please telephone the surgery on 01752 206002. Until further notice all doctor appointments will be done by telephone triage and the doctor will invite you to the surgery if necessary.

If you're unwell with a cough, shortness of breath, fever or any other viral type symptoms such as a sore throat, temperature or a cold please do NOT attend the surgery. You may complete an eConsult or alternatively please call 111 or visit https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19 to complete the online risk assessment.

AgeUK Plymouth Support Services

AgeUK Plymouth can arrange assistance to provide you with everything you need while self-isolating. Age UK have a prescription collection service and they can arrange a weekly telephone call with a phone friend to keep you in regular contact with someone. AgeUK can also organise volunteers to carry out food shopping, this can be accessed through calling AgeUK Plymouth on 01752 256020.

Caring for Plymouth Support Hub launches

The Caring for Plymouth Support Hub – the operation to shield Plymouth’s most vulnerable residents from the coronavirus – is up and running. 

As announced by the government last week, all medically vulnerable people are being advised to stay in their home for the next 12 weeks to protect themselves from the spread of the coronavirus. This group of people includes some already seriously ill people as well as those living with a disability or ongoing medical conditions.

Caring for Plymouth, which is an alliance between the Council, Livewell Southwest and a large number of Voluntary and Community Sector organisations, will ensure that these people are provided with emotional support, shopping, medicine collection, support with paying bills and accessing money. Staff providing the service will have had background checks to provide added piece of mind.

Whitleigh Community Help Hub
Four Greens Community Trust will be taking an active role in coordinating and administering the Whitleigh Community Help Hub with their partner organisations St Chads Church, The Salvation Army, and the Whitleigh Big Local. Their volunteers will collect and deliver food, prescriptions and other essential goods. If you need help then please call 01752 875916 8.30am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday.

Sound Primary Care Network (PCN) 

From 1st July 2019 Budshead joined forces with five other practices to form Sound Primary Care Network. This will allow us to work on a larger scale to improve services for our patients. Sound PCN consists of Budshead Medical Practice, Elm Surgery, Estover Surgery, Friary House Surgery, Southway Surgery and Oakside Surgery and covers just over 41,000 patients.

         

Consult your doctor ONLINE!

Our eConsult service lets you request advice and treatment from our practice online and offers self-help advice for hundreds of common conditions. You may also request administrative help online (e.g. sick notes, blood results, requests for reports). You simply need to be 18 or over and a registered patient of Budshead Medical Practice. Get started with eConsult here.             
   

Improved Access Access to a GP appointment when we are fully booked
GP appointments are now available for our patients during the evenings and at the weekend, to book an appointment please call Devon Doctors on 01392 822354. This number is available to call from 8am - 6.30pm between Monday - Friday and from 8am - 1pm over weekends and bank holidays. Appointments are located at Mount Gould Medical Centre.

Repeat Prescription Requests
From 1st September 2018 we stopped accepting telephone prescription requests. You can order online, by post or in person. Please let us know the pharmacy of your choice for sending your request to. This will be sent electronically. To order your prescription online please ask our receptionist about setting up online access. 

    

Healthy Futures
We now offer a social prescribing service. This new service can help with all non-medical matters. Please telephone 01752 203673 and make an appointment with Sarah. The service is based in the practice. For more information click here.
