Weight Loss Medications GLP-1 Receptor Agonists

At this time Budshead Medical Practice are receiving many requests around Weight Loss medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro. These medications are not currently available to patients at this time purely for weight loss. If you suffer with Diabetes or are referred to the Weight Management clinic then these medications will be considered by the appropriate clinicians dealing with that patient and a decision will be made on whether these medications also know as GLP-1 Receptor Agonists should be used to aid in support of diabetes or weight loss. This action is only completed via a referral.

As we receive more information from Government / NHS England on the role out of GLP-1 for a more generic weight loss use then we will of course keep you up to date.
